I've been dealing with many issues in the past few months which has made it difficult to put in consistent time into YouTube videos or modding in general. This is mainly due to struggling with a lot of grief and loneliness, recovering from an illness that was nearly life-threatening, and trying to sort out a fraud I was a victim of.
Modding has been a great way for me to relieve some of the pain I go through, but constantly pushing myself to put all my free time into complicated projects while dealing with many problems has given me yet another burnout.
On the plus side, I am nearly done with a large mod pack for Metroid Dread, which contains thousands of changes. You can find more information about it on my Twitter and I really look forward to seeing what people think about it once it's released.
However, after I release it and post a few videos for it, I will be taking a break from large-scale projects, as they have always proven to be very unhealthy for me. I want to remind you that I am just a single person pouring all of their free time while dealing with a lot at the same time, and I cannot stress how much this lifestyle has negatively impacted me over the years.
What looks like 10 minutes of video, or a cosmetic mod, translates to hundreds of hours of work all done for free. And when so many people of so many different communities want more and more of the various things I have created, that's thousands of hours worth of work that I cannot always find the time for unless sacrifices are made. The constant pressure and unrealistic expectations social media puts on creators are seriously damaging and I want to change that before it's too late.
During this break period, I will still be working on videos and sometimes releasing mods, but they will be on a much smaller and simpler scale as I am at a point where my own health, enjoyment and creative spark are severely impacted. I want to be able to relax as I draw, model, write dialogue or make a cover song, without feeling stressed out that I am not doing enough, not fast enough. I don't want to grow to hate my hobbies.
I hope you can understand. I will always strive to have more exciting things to share with everyone, but I just need time as I cannot constantly pump out content like a machine while there are many more important things in life that require my attention.
Take care, thank you so much for the continued support, and keep being awesome.
