DLM Christian Perspective

It's so heartbreaking to see how this is still happening in 2025.
Many have a misconception about the persecution of Christians - that it was something that happened in biblical times, and that today we have the freedom to choose their religion. This is not the case for everyone. The brutal murder, torture and persecution of followers of Christ is still happening around the world today.

Why do we never hear about these persecutions all over the news?
This is video is just one of the execution events this week, where 30 people were brutally beheaded for their faith, for following Christ.
Just do a quick search for yourself about all the persecution happening around the world - even just in the last month - you will be shocked and horrified because the scale of this is much larger than you would think. And it will only grow.

But, as Christians we are to expect this. Jesus gave us this comfort:
"If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you" - John 15:18

Considering this, how much do you appreciate and value the great privilege you have to freely choose and practice your faith? Or do you take for granted that you can freely pray in the comfort of your own home, and teach God's Word to your children? How often do you thank God for this privilege, and pray for those who are being persecuted for these things you take for granted?

No matter what persecution you might face one day, take His comfort with you. He already went through the worst of the worst torture and humiliation FOR YOU. He did not waver, He did not give in to pressure, He did not deny the Truth, He endured everything until the end and said "it is finished" (John 19:30).

We know that we should not be shocked by everything happening right now, because Jesus warned us these things need to happen to prepare for the end times.
"And when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. This must happen, but the end is not yet." - Matthew 24:6

With all the evil and chaos around us, we need to remember this is SPIRITUAL ("For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities... - Ephesians 6:12-13)

We are in a continuous spiritual battle of light vs. dark, and we need to handle every situation as such. How do we do this? The verse goes on:
"...Therefore put on the full armor of God...")

The Spiritual Armor - Ephesians 6:10-18
Belt of Truth: To stand with the belt of truth buckled around your waist.
Breastplate of Righteousness: To wear the breastplate of righteousness in place.
Gospel of Peace: To have your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
Shield of Faith: To take up the shield of faith to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
Helmet of Salvation: To take the helmet of salvation.
Sword of the Spirit: To take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

While you have the freedom, study God's Word to remember it and live by it. "Write them on the tablet of your heart" - Proverbs 3:3. And teach it to your children so they know it as well. And live by it.
Make prayer part of your daily life, talk to God and have fellowship with Him throughout your day.
