The survey mentioned that the Heritage Strategy intends to provide grants to "heritage owners". We need to make it clear that it's not ok for them to use this as a loophole for more cash grabs from professional grifters/activists

Your second picture... do they really expect us to believe aboriginal people are just doing that in their spare time? I remember in school they tried to do some dancing lesson, corroboree event thing... my classmate was aboriginal. He effing hated it. His family complained to the school for having him sit through it because he felt singled out, like "everyone's looking at me" type feelings. Poor guy. Most normal people who are part or full-blood aboriginal hate the politicization of it all. They don't want to be intentionally treated in any way, like any normal person.

Daily Insight
For all New South Wales viewers, the NSW Government has created a new draft Heritage Strategy and is looking for feedback via a survey (see the link below). According to the Vimeo video they included on the page, they state the draft strategy includes the "voices, stories, and values of our diverse communities." They state their goal of "making heritage more inclusive," and their key actions to "recognise our shared stories from all backgrounds and cultures," and to "work with Aboriginal communities on truth-telling and healing."
From what I understand, the survey hasn't been heavily promoted (perhaps the Government don't really want to know what normal residents think?).
There are three survey options down the bottom of the page: a detailed survey (15-minutes), a shorter survey (5 minutes), or a Quick Poll.
Anyway, if you're interested in this sort of stuff and don't want the Government to get away with saying "we consulted the community" (through a hidden survey that almost nobody filled out), fill out the survey today and let them know your real thoughts!
The survey closes Sunday 13 July 2025.
