It is extremely rare for me to forget something. As soon as I got my first computer I started making checklists for everything.

I pack the night before my flight ( depending on the time of the flight) Then I take everything out of my luggage 4 hours before my flight and repack everything then off to the airport, if it's not in my luggage by the time I get to the airport, I don't need it.

In the Android world, there's an app for that. It's called Check Off. I use it for travel plus things like shutting down our lake house for winter deep-freeze. It's clearly put together by someone who decided they needed something just like this. It's an easy platform to build apps for. Oh - and if you're going to be away from home for a while use your phone to take a picture of your stove showing it's off so when it's wheels-up and you're suddenly doubting whether you did that, you can just look at the photo.

If you didn’t remember to bring it, then it wasn’t that important in the first place.
