My time with the KTM 390 Adventure R is coming to an end soon, to allow the time/funding to review new bikes. However, there are a few more episodes coming out: Episode 4 focuses on vibration reduction, adding power, fixing small issues, and addressing suspension. Episode 5 will offer a direct head to head comparison with the 890 Adventure R, and Episode 6 will offer comparisons to direct competitors like the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and CFMOTO Ibex 450 (450MT).
Thanks to @blackdogcycleworks for sending out their rear cargo rack (pictured), which installs easily and addresses the glaring omission of any rack or attachment points from the factory.
I have been testing the Powertronics FuelX Pro to improve low end response, the Mako360 from XC Gear and Motion Footpegs from Motion Factory Racing to reduce felt vibrations, and more I'll address in coming episodes.
