I always thought European politicians were idiots. But after reading the EU-US deal on tariffs, I changed my mind. They're not idiots, they're corrupt. An idiot would have made a better deal.

It's crazy, they tried to pretend like they are were so tough with Trump and that they will protect the interest of the EU. And in the end they submit. If anyone needed another proof that the EU is an Atlantist institution and serves the US before the EU state here you go

Europe became America's vassal since WW2, EU politicians just did as they were instructed to by their boss.

Either they're in the Epstein files, or Trump threatened to pull out of NATO, or give them the "tariff special". It's a shame, I think Europe should be united, but not like this.

They likely agreed to the deal due to the massive power imbalance between the US and the EU do to not only the EU being economically weaker than the US but also military depending on it and it is plagued by bureaucracy the US can propose a deal and then change the terms before the EU can even decide if all the countries agree meaning that it’s hard to negotiate. As all the different countries have different economic goals, meaning instead of standing strong like a union against the United States they can pick them apart, get several of the major players in a room, and agreed to a beneficial deal that hurts them slightly less than the rest of the EU and they will sell the rest out. Both deals benefit the US just one hurts specific EU countries less. The UK despite being horribly incompetent managed to get a better deal despite being a single country because they were able to negotiate and get a deal quickly and did not have as many different countries that have different interests to exploit.

Think about it from the American side for a second. We get tariffed hard because our technology and food exports don’t pass EU regulations. Now granted plenty of these regulations are justified but that doesn’t change how the deal is supposed to make things an even plain field. Could Trump have been smarter about how to initiate tariffs? Absolutely but this was the best deal to have without American relations with European countries not the UK and Ireland breaking down. Especially when the point of tariffs is to get countries to invest in their own products and industries.

It's strange how the german interests always go first in this type of EU agreement. We had the same for MERCOSUR, but yeah for me EU is USA and then Germany first. As a french I have enough that our key sectors are always sacrificed for the good of the german industry. Some says that EU is a sort of fourth reich and a the beginning it was kinda difficult to believe, but now it's different and they turn out to be right.

European politicians destroyed Africa’s most developed nation, Libya, in order to avoid paying Gaddafi and potentially exposing a financial scandal. Just hours after Gaddafi’s fall, millions of MENA and SSA migrants flooded into Libya and began moving north toward Europe. This triggered the ongoing immigration crisis and the widespread and systematic attacks on European ethnicity, culture, and religion we’re seeing today. European politicians aren’t just corrupt, they’re genocidal.

This is what it's like to deal with an economic rival like the United States of America. When you're the largest global consumer you get to make deals the other countries do not have access to. If the United States stops buying from the rest of the world the rest of the world goes into a depression. Not to mention the large currencies of the world like the euro in the US dollar Chinese Yuan are tied together economically taking one of them out with collapse the global economic system. just like in a nuclear scenario where we have mad we also have economically assured destruction.
