Everyone should take turns buying the trademark. Let them spend money on lawyers requesting it back. Release it once the lawyers get involved for the next person.

I still think you should put up a patrion to fund a case against CNN

I am not under US jurisdiction I'll try and get the Mythbusters TM just for the giggles. Try to sue me Discovery!

it really sucks how this shook down man. you didn’t deserve to be strong armed like this. love your work. keep bustin’ buddy

Would you mind making a quick video about how precisely one would be to acquire a trademark? You know just to expand your audience’s knowledge.

I know the situation was bad for you and could have resulted in financial failure but man I would have loved to see you stick it to them. I hate this scum bag behavior large companies just get away with and I at least would like to see it turn out to do massive PR damage to them when they pull this kind of thing. Wish you the best and hope they leave you alone from now on.

Wasn’t CNN the company that stole your snake legs video in the first place?

"Don't try to buy the trademark before Discovery Channel can." Hey Ferb, I know what we're gonna do today.

it’s actually insane how big companies like cnn and discovery can make you stop doing something you have all the legal rights to do

Gotta love when a mega corporation stops you from having fun just because you poked fun at them which is totally legal
2 years ago | 99
I agree. No one should, under any circumstances, attempt to buy the trademark before Discovery can.

it would be funny if CNN reported on your story forgetting they caused the whole situation
2 years ago | 48
Yeah, definitely don’t do that. How do you buy trademarks again such as the “Mythbusters” one? So no one accidentally does it!
2 years ago | 47
Man, I really wanted CNN to establish legal precedent that their logo is indistinguishable from the word CUM. Would have proven super useful later...

So it looks like (for now) busty the walrus is still legally your property and can still be sold. I’d still advise you to try and register your own trade mark for your merch to try and avoid thing like this from happening again
2 years ago | 17
Still terrible that they screwed you like this man.

Remember, it was the big company that owns Mythbusters that were shitty about this, not any Mythbusters themselves.

That’s depressing that you can just be strong armed out of this trademark you acquired legally just because a big corporation doesn’t like it.

Allen Pan
MYTHBUSTERS SHIRTS ARE SOLD OUT
Thanks to all you little busters I won't have to burn any of my merch in a bonfire. Everything should ship out by July 31st. Incredible.
I've officially filed to abandon the Mythbusters Trademark, so that should show up on the USPTO in the next couple days. Please don't try to buy the trademark before Discovery Channel can. That would hurt Mr. Discovery's feelings.
If you missed your chance to buy the last Mythbusters shirts, we've been advised that the plushies should be ok to continue selling (for now) so those are back up at RealBustedMerch.com
Happy Busting Everyone!
