My daddy was there, he was Navy. One of the 1st drafted in Seattle. He said that they were loaded on the amphibians and dumped out on the sand to be mowed down by the Japanese. To be a survivor is a miracle 🙏. Thank you for sharing and thank you for your service. 💙🩵💙

To think of this in a historic context, realize that we lost more troops in one day on Iwo Jima than the 27. year gulf war .
