@warpdriveby

I was saddened to hear your beautiful Cane Corso died, it's terrible losing a dog especially a puppy, again I'm so sorry. I own a GSD and have begun basic marker reward training and will work up to either service or protection training once I see what Hendrix's talents are. I have years of experience both with family dogs, and working full time for about a year at a bully breed rescue. I would say I'm highly experienced in basics, but moving up to the GSD has required me to increase my own training significantly! They are a joy, but also a big responsibility and need lots of direct attention and directions. However, I know I'm not qualified to own a Cane Corso or similar breed, without a guide and teacher, and more experience. 90% of the bullys I worked with were a joy, and the 10% were a challenge but totally worth the effort. Not a single one out of hundreds even bared teeth at me, but I did learn doggy body language. Off of home turf (or absent a scared owner,) have never seen one attack a human without 2 or 3 warnings. Even the 3 or 4 who'd been fought and confiscated by ACC showed zero aggression to staff, but they were VERY dog aggressive at first. I adore the breeds who want the deepest relationships with humans! I love labs, goldens, pointers, but once I cared for a girlfriend's GSD I saw how they take learning in a different direction, and thrive on having a job. I would seriously consider a Cane Corso in the future, but I realize the gravity of that commitment. It infuriates me to see smart, perceptive, loving dogs abandoned or surrendered because the owner selected a breed as an accessory and was unfit to care for them, when they could have gotten an English bulldog or a pug if they wanted low maintenance.

Hey bud I just watched your video on top 10 independent dog breeds for guardian that are fine for n their own (2 years) ago You mentioned about special needs for ‘work’ Does this mean you work with persons with special needs like a group or program? I’m an EA and am looking for a dog that’s great on its own… I used to own a staffordshire but he passed away a few years ago. And a white style Shepard dog, possibly some Spanish mix. That passed away several years before my Staffie (he actually had a lot of medical issues too) . As a person whom works with special needs persons, what independent breed ( because I work 6-8 hours daily) guardian style breed which you recommend for a person with a 3 bedroom suite, with a small yard that can be fine on their own, ok with known people?

If you have Facebook look up Twin Creek Mastadors. They breed and sell BEAUTIFUL Mastadors. I have a Mastador of my own and he is an incredible dog. Wish I could send pics
