My Thoughts on One Punch Man Season 3 (Part 1):

there are some people who wants to get rid of the whole One Punch Man anime for season 3 having bad animation are just over exaggerating. there are other worst anime out there than this. it’s not JC Staff fault, blame Bandai’s greediness for making us wait that long and giving the animators having a very tight deadline of making the actual season 3 in 6 to 7 months ago. the art style is fine. the story and the plot is still accurate compared to the manga. and the voice acting is still pretty good. some of the special effects look very cool. anyways, I’m going to review the first six episodes of this season so far, without exaggeration but I will still hate it.

Opening: the season 3 opening is absolutely very good. they used all of the budget for only the opening, yeah…

Episode 1: looks fine, but the animation looks kind of inconsistent and Garou’s walking animation is kind of off because of his shoulders
Episode 2 & 3: for episode 2, the best part about the episode is Garou eating food at a cafe, I love food because I’m a foodie. his sliding PNG was lazy but hilarious at the same time. they didn’t even add a shadow. Saitama sharing his fries with Fubuki is cute, Saitama’s running animation is so goofy. for episode 3, the fight of Garou facing bug person and a mummy guy with blade hands who looks like a woman was a fine battle until some of the shots very pretty lazy. there’s that one shot where it’s reused four times, and there’s that other shot where it’s dimmed for some reason, but at least it did have some good movement animation for the most part
Episode 4: I don’t like the blue filter on Garou, it makes him look more like a Smurf. there are a couple of cuts in this episode. the hot pot scene was pretty terrible because of how stiff the characters are, they barely have any character animation, but at least it’s a food scene so I’m not mad if any anime has food scenes. King’s running animation was goofy. Garou killing King Ripper or whatever, was somewhat satisfying. I don’t like how they didn’t animate one of King Ripper’s blade pierce through Garou’s hand compared to manga.
Episode 5: Garou has pretty good running animation. the fight against Rover was pretty decent. there are still some still frames when Garou fought other monsters. the Rover fight wasn’t perfect and kind of bland but it’s still decent. the fight of Garou facing Gyoro is whatever, the fight of Garou facing Orochi was completely lazy. the editing is very choppy, and the pacing was very off. the scene where Orochi setting the place on fire was a very good shot but it still has those abrupt cuts. a couple of moments where it’s still frames as expected. the shading is still good. the fact that Garou was gonna about to do the final blow on Orochi and then it cuts to Garou got pummeled. this episode was extremely rushed because of JC Staff’s tight schedule
Episode 6: there’s like a ton of shots with a neon filter pisses me off since they do this a ton of times. they didn’t animate the hologram of Elder Centipede, and it’s funny that the manga surprisingly has more animation than that scene. King’s walking animation was goofy as hell. Genos new upgrade design doesn’t even look that detailed compared to the manga. the editing is still bad, some of the art looks good but some look bad compared to the manga.

so yeah, it’s lazy but it’s not the worst anime ever in terms of writing. again, it’s Bandai’s fault for being a greedy son of a bitch and didn’t give JC Staff a longer deadline. if they do managed to make all episodes of season 3, I will watch all of them with no issues. so when the rest of the episodes are out, I’ll make a part two of this. season 1 was phenomenal, season 2 was mediocre, and so far season 3 was bad
