I remember writing an essay on this in my predominantly white class. Nobody knew his name, nobody knew his story but all eyes were on that board as I presented my essay. I felt strong and powerful as a black teenage girl telling the story of how unfairly this innocent boy was treated. I felt like I was doing my due diligence by making George’s story told, even if it made one person heart change. By the end of my essay, everyone mouth was on the ground and I was applauded. I will NEVER forget George’s story. Rest in peace to this innocent little boy who didn’t deserve this whatsoever.

Having him sit on a Bible is crazy! I keep hearing all these people talk about being Christians and talking about God but they are the most evil people I have ever encountered. They are trying to take us back to a time when it was okay to unalive us without recourse or consequences. Thank you for keeping us aware and enlightened.

I mentioned George in a poem titled "Young Black Man" in a book of poems I published in 2020. The name of my book is My Pen, My Thoughts by Natarsia Joye since people are asking. I appreciate the interest and support.

Yes, my grandmother told us this story years and years ago. This was her hometown and George’s sister was her best friend. so she was right there in the midst of all of this when this happened.🙏

He was a baby... our justice system murdered an innocent child crying and asking for his mama. My heart breaks, imagining how scared he was and how his mother must've felt, helpless to stop her baby from being killed. And the society, (our society) as it was, called it justice.
