The emotions you hold onto will always influence your actions, and your actions eventually shape the outcomes of your life.

But here’s the truth, your emotions aren’t the problem. The real problem is the story you keep telling yourself about that person, that situation, or even about yourself.

That’s what’s triggering the emotional response. So don’t fight your emotions, they’re simply responding to the narrative you’ve been replaying.

Instead:
*Question the story. Is it true, or is it an assumption?
*Shift your perspective. Look at the difficult situation through a more life-giving lens.
*Regulate your emotions with God’s Word

Sometimes all you have to do is sit in stillness and reflect for a bit, so you respond with wisdom instead of reacting in frustration or foolishness.

The battle is in the mind people! Win in the mind, and you win everywhere else. Even God needs our minds to bring transformation. (Romans 12:2).

What stories are you telling yourself as the year draws to a close. Reject that lie the enemy whispered in your ears this morning.
