Does anyone grow Hydrangea involucrata? I came across this one called Blue Bunny (aka ‘Wim Rutten’) at the Spring Meadow Nursery display garden (which is actually the home garden of the nursery owner). Unfortunately it is discontinued and still under patent so basically cannot be found, but there are other H. Incvolucrata out there. It is only hardy to zone 6, blooms later and has blue flowers that are unaffected by soil pH.
If you’ve grown this kind of hydrangea please share your experience! And if you’ve experienced the joy of falling in love with a new plant only to find out you cannot have it, I want to hear about that too.
