It’s not “horrible”, it just looks unfinished. If there was an “unfinished” or “ok” category, I’d choose it.

I love this style. It has model trainset vibes. Like it's something you could set up on your table, but with just enough polish.

I think Foundation looks really good, especially after the overhaul that improved the graphics and art style. More stylized graphics tend to stand the test of time better than hyper realistic graphics.

The game has character. Too many games nowadays that look way too unreal/unity-like

This is for me style over quality, so comes down to your preference. I wonder what you were convinced about

I think it's cartoony and charming! It's not, like, the most beautiful thing I've ever seen, and it's bound to not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's certainly not ugly.

It's nice. Simple, functional, and clean. Beauty requires a bit of something more for me at least, but it's a "je ne sais quoi" issue though.

I went with bad beacuse it can be seen that they put in some effort, but with a little more would be so much better. Nice but sloppy would be the correct wote. Bad is a bit hars.

It's giving me a old school RuneScape kinda vibe, so while not visually beautiful on its own, it's a nostalgic kind of look that works well in games (depending on the game.) reminds me of how Project Zomboid uses a style reminiscent of Sims 1

looks like literally every indie city builder released in the last 5 years

I'd say they feel cheap. Not ugly, but the model complexity and level of detail is inconsistent, with the tree leaves on the right being composed of a few chunky planes and the bushes are round blobs, but the roof edges have tiny bits of hay sticking up and the edges of shingles stick out in lots of little bits, even though the surface of the shingles is completely flat. (Though the hay roof has far more detail the flat part than the shingles do.) None of these are inherently bad on their own, but when combined I feel like it lacks a consistent visual style. It wouldn't turn me off from playing the game but it's not comparable to Banished, Tiny Glade, or Ostriv.

It looks really good, the art direction clearly isn't going for realism, but it looks like a competently executed 'cartoony' aesthetic.

I voted beautiful. Yeah, the technical quality of the graphics, being low-poly like it's not amazing. But what matters is the end result. Does it look pleasant ? Yes, it does to me. I can easily understand both the big things - trees, houses, paths, and also models and smaller elements. It works and it will age better than some technically-better graphics that focus too much on polygon count and very fine details. Though now that I looked again, the trees to the left of the fountain do look janky, I didn't pay attention to them initially, I looked more at the houses. With this in mind I would've voted "Nice". Oh well. Edit: Didn't realize I can change my vote. So I corrected it.

btw i think your poll is missing a middle ground, like Average, indifferent etc

Someone just had very strong opinions on how these graphics look and was convinced 99.99% of you would vote the same way. How would you rate the look of this image linked here? - gamerzakh.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Graphics.… (this is just a link directly to a screenshot)
