When I was in the USMC I got 9 jumps with the Marine Sport Parachute Club at MCAS, Cherry Point, NC. No way I'd ever let anyone pack my main. It always opened. Reserves were packed by licensed riggers. Loved every jump! Cheers from eastern TN

As a former Army Parachutist, I'm going to say both. Once trained, you trust that training and your equipment. I chose "jump out plane" for Tribal reasons.

Rappelling, I get to decide how hard my feet hit the ground.

He said ā€œjump out of a planeā€ but mentioned nothing about a parachute. Repelling down a cliff implies repelling gear. I’ll do the cliff.

Haven’t had the opportunity to go to Airborne School, but I’ve rappelled down plenty of cliffs. Hopefully I’ll get my airborne wings in my next contract

I've done both and lived to tell about it. I enjoy rappelling but find jumping out of a plane more exhilarating.

They asked the question as in ā€œwhich one is the least worseā€, people answering ā€œwhich is the bestā€

Jumped out of a plane and hated it. The view was amazing but I was nauseous for a week. Repelled down a building and loved it. I would so do that again!ā¤

As I've heard. You can do everything right jumping out of a plane and still break your leg. You can do everything wrong repeling and just break your leg

@u808man

U.S. ARMY veteran here… Repelled out of Helicopters, which, required jumping out of an aircraft without a Chute by Repelling down into the Hot DZ… ā€œAir Assault!ā€šŸ˜Ž

24 years as a light infantryman, I’ve done both and much more and it was great!

Um, yeah both! But my DD214 Say I did enough. Though my wife says if I want, she's all for me re-upping. If they would let me instruct at Bragg.
