Yes and no. In my experience. Even some of the most expensive kibbles are not good. The kibble I like to use just happens to be cheaper where I source it. When it comes to feeding raw is where I carefully source to make sure it’s not expensive. Most kibble is trash for the price anyways. Even if you buy expensive kibble it’s all just vitamins added to filler and meat. Raw is where I am careful to not be scammed. Raw food companies want to upsell and such like crazy

I prefer making my dogs food. Taste much better and if you use good for your dog ingredients it should be just as good also. I still feed one meal that's really good brands of dry and canned food the rest are homemade. I buy packages of chicken or a whole chicken boiling it saving the broth in fridge to add to the foods and remove chicken from bones using that meat during the week adding mixed vegetables and either rice or chopped potatoes carrots there's so many really good things that actually cost less like beef liver buy a pound packages every week dividing into equal portions for the week once daily and chicken once daily and adding the mixed vegetables to most of the meals she lovely Vienna sausage about 90 cents a can a package of good weiners weekly a couple boxes of Hamburger Helper for during the week, frozen pot pies, make her an egg omelet daily using chopped meats and cheese added using the pieces from meats I got like that chicken or liver smoked sausage which one is on sale that's good liver pudding. There's so many different things you can make that will cost less and tastes much better and giving your dog a variety of different foods.
