I’m on team Emerald I liked Emeralds main story with having to deal with both evil teams. Team magma having a base inside of a volcano instead of the ocean. Was a nice change the gym leaders having better teams and being able to rematch them which didn’t carry over to ORAS. Emerald also doesn’t really have any type of loading the whole game is just loaded at all times. ORAS added those transition buildings in between routes which function as loading screens but those didn’t exist in the gba originals. I do love the dex nav in ORAS and flying around the region on top of latias/latios was cool as well. The flying out in space during the delta episode was cool. As it seemingly was based off a playground rumor from the original games that you could go in space after enough shuttle launches in mossdeep city. Which wasn’t true obviously but ORAS actually did it and that was amazing as I and my friends where those kids who believed in that rumor I mean that’s like the equivalent of putting Mew under the truck in a Kanto remake. However the rest of the delta Episode is just flying from town to town and talking to NPC’s and beating down people with under leveled Pokémon. It wasn’t fun. ORAS’s battle tower is copied and pasted straight from XY instead of using the superior battle frontier from Emerald this is one of the main reasons people like Emerald more as you can get a LOT of play time out of the battle frontier. The frontier with the modern changes to how battle facilities work would have been amazing and it was a huge miss opportunity. There was also a bunch of miner features that Emerald had that wasn’t present in ORAS but I’ve already talked enough ye. ORAS is fine and isn’t like BDSP tier or anything I just wish it borrowed more from Emerald.

Emerald 100% - both team aqua and megma - wattson has Hoenn pokemon in his gym battle - gym leader rematch - battle frontier

Emerald is the more complete game while ORAS offers the gimmick and new locations minus the battle frontier. They both are slightly tied for me with ORAS having the edge due to the modern mechanics. If they were to ever give the 3rd games justice then Delta Emerald or Glossy Platinum would have been among the best remakes in the series.

I absolutely love Emerald. I do agree that it deserves new features whenever it gets remade along with other remakes based on Crystal and Platinum.

Emerald is my favorite Pokemon game especly romhacked but Oras is a great remake of Saphire and Ruby and easily the best Pokémon remaster/remake to date... Although I have only played the Gen 1 remaster/remakes and ORAS. So they are equals in my eyes... But for the poll I picked ORAS as objectively it's better in everyway but story where they are equals.

ORAS I'd the only Pokémon game I've ever had corrupt on me, midway through my first playthrough, which lost me my first encounter shiny mightyena and any motivation I had to play the game. I never did go back to it.

for me it's basicly megas or battle frontier and megas is something i can use every play through so i chose that

Oras had the chance to be amazing if they added emerald BF and being able to play online in them

I generally liked ORAS more than Emerald, I liked the delta story they did as a post game and the cosplay pikachu having different abilities but I can't deny the lack of a battle frontier is noticeable.

Tough bc oras was polished and still updated with emerald features but emerald and Diamond were easily the best 3rd games of any gen.

I love ORAS for the added features, improved mechanics, but in emerald I will always respect the fact that we could battle 2 evil teams in one game and also have the battle frontier. I sucked at the battle frontier initially, but got better as an adult. It was frustrating and fun...and frustrating, lol. I prefer the updated features so I will give the win to ORAS
