The real challenge is turning out to be flight clubs and flight schools that won’t rent to sport pilots without a medical. The local flight club where I’ve been training for sport pilot decided that they are unsure of the effect on their insurance so they’re requiring a 3rd class medical.

I know hate to be the downer about this. But with having money getting a pilots license being more of a factor than being a good pilot these days, are these really a good thing?
