How important are bookmarks/chapters to you in long gameplay videos/supercut parts?

@mister-hajime

It's great to see that you're doing your research to grow your channel. Just remember that the people answering these polls are already subbed, so doing the most voted thing helps retention, but not growth.

They're especially nice if I want to find something again or show part of it to a friend

I feel they're only really necessary if you have a topic you have covered before, to skip over. Or there's a really funny moment to highlight. Or the beginning of a boss fight or something of that nature.

They're nice to have but I'll still watch regardless

imo if a long video doesn't have chapters and I don't feel interested in the first few minutes, I'll probably not watch the rest. but with chapters I may jump around and watch the stuff that does sound interesting to me

The proper answer is. It doesn’t matter what the viewer wants. It’s whatever is best for viewer retention and watch time. Gotta pay the bills. And while nice, chapters usually decrease watch time because viewers scroll more

Tip: Use the Merlin AI Chrome extension to automatically generate a rough draft for the timestamps, then edit them, and place them in your video description. I could save you a bunch of time if you decide to include timestamps.

Always love seeing requests for feedback and that you are still streaming just remember the most important thing, to have fun enjoying what you do

I chose the "won't watch without em" but that's with the caveat of them actually being useful. If it's just a vod the only bookmarks that are useful are when you start playing/switch to something else, if ever. Basically, if I ever feel the need to see the bookmarks then yeah, I'm not watching it without them. Otherwise I wouldn't even be able to notice if there are.

They are helpful, but skipping through the video makes me question why i clicked on it to watch it (my opinion).

@Auir9

How much time do they take to add in? If they are pre-planned during editing, is yt’s UI just a pain to deal with? Inferences from the question.

@Azreale

Not that important, just wanna see you laugh and smile 😊

@Felgud

Time stamps/bookmarks/chapters are less important than relevant titles and thumbnails

I only care if it’s a random guide for something, if I’m watching zepla/asmon/xenos/mizkif/t1 anyone like that, it’s to placate my adhd no skipping required.

@loecallah4761

how about start posting uncut vods since its taking you way longer than it should to do a few jumpcuts

Zepla, my suggestion is do clickbait titles like 'x years of FF MMO player trying out Genshin' or something like that. People need context to why they would want to watch your vid, why your opinion is relevant. 'Zepla playing genshin impact' doesn't mean anything to non-ff player. Just my 2 cents.
