Great “conversation” with Jay Dyer. If he thought he’d fluster you, you definitely weren’t! Excellent work.

My confusion is that, following your logic to its end, why don’t you use your line of thinking to prove that leaving the Catholic Church was the wrong move? Why is the breakoff of the church so important to stay in but not the church itself. Ever since I heard this whole reconquista project you have I’ve just been replacing the Presbyterian church with the Catholic Church and don’t see how you don’t put the pieces together that the same logic you’re using can be used against Protestantism as a whole. Maybe instead of just leaving Catholicism, the Protestants should’ve said in the church and worked out the issues they had from the inside rather then letting their personal opinions get the best of them and then ultimately getting excommunicated. The main issue was paid indulgences which got fixed. The crux of Protestantism is gone. There’s no reason to be a part of a breakoff, especially since no one alive today was excommunicated. Follow your logic to its endpoint. It didn’t make sense to be anything other than Catholic. If you don’t see the connection then there’s obviously some bias, not for truth, but for your personal church.

@MrAbsentmindedprof

Hey Zoomer, just curious: did you hit him with why the PCA folks didn't just join the OPC when they left, since the doctrinal standards are the same? That one nails the coffin on the illegitimacy of the PCA for me.

The bad people in the system are planning big things, and I want to help you. I respect if you think it's all nonsense. All I ask is that you review this information whenever you want, and then you decide what to do.
