yummi!

If you’re someone who’s latched onto the Charlie Kirk incident and made content regarding it before a significant amount of information came out, I will take it that your views on it are performative and a chance for clout. This goes for both sides, as many people have used this (and many other things) as a means to push a narrative (any narrative, good bad or neutral). This is news, this is history, this is reality, this is not another internet drama to simply cover and profit off of angry discourse.

We need to normalize waiting for official information to come out regarding these things. When you make content the second something happens, it is highly likely you will misreport what happened. I am fine with people expressing their opinions, as everyone should be, you just need to have INFORMED opinions. You cannot jump onto every small detail to make a new video, because new details + new evidence leads to new conclusions and new beliefs.

I do not like Charlie Kirk. He was a dangerous man to my community and myself. He is responsible for a lot of hate, harassment, misinformation, and crimes against minority groups, and this should not be forgotten. This post is to say that youtubers and tiktokers are not official news sources, and if you wanna pretend to be, wait for the big leagues to do the work for you before you report on an incident.

This is directed towards hundreds of people, and I have seen numerous accounts of people spreading FALSE information because of the people playing news reporter.
