Like half the videos on the topic are stuff like “CHARLIE KIRK DEAD?!?! SHOCKING NEW FOOTAGE + THEORIES!? [TRANS SHOOTER CONSPIRACY & $1000 GIVEAWAY]” Glad to see videos from actual thoughtful creators get some traction tho.

The way I found out he died was through hetalia tiktoks. No I'm not joking. I'm not American so I didn't know who he was so I was very surprised and confused to say the least

the only thing I wanna know is… did the bullet that shot him really have “notices bulge owo” carved onto it?

I really think people mocking his death are no better. Mocking someone's death is never okay. I really hope his children and wife will be able to heal.

I learned 2 things from this incident Conservatives support guns, but hate when someone they like gets shot. Liberals don’t support guns, but like it when someone they don’t like gets shot. Now people are even harassing his wife who did nothing but kiss him while at his funeral and cry over his death, saying it’s “weird” and she is like Amber Heard I do not like what the world is coming to Also when people say Charlie had a wife and kids, people say “this very evil person also had a wife and kids, did he not deserve to die?” But the thing is, those bad people also committed violence, but you are supporting the shootings. So are you against the violence or for it? The world is an evil place.

Watching the way the news media and government officials were scrambling to blame the trans and "woke" community before they figured out who did it is the part that fucks with me the most. Like looking at their reactions to the shooter before they figured out who it was vs after they figured out who it was is so so telling. Look up Nancy Mace and you will see a glimpse of what I am talking about. Saying that "It sounds like the shooter was a tr**ny, or pro-tr**ny.” (Literally her words) And then saying that Charlie Kirk would of wanted them to pray for the shooter to find jesus christ AFTER FINDING OUT HE WAS JUST SOME GODDAMN WHITE DUDE. She isn't the only one with a sudden switch up like that. It's fucking disgusting. People making clickbaity videos on something like this absolutely sucks 100% but the suckiest part is that our own news has been doing that as well. There is no way I can trust the news to be unbiased with any of this information. I am going insane.

I love everyone suddenly gained empathy when he's the same guy who defended gun violence. Yeah I'm aware he had a family which I feel bad for but I feel no sympathy towards Charlie whatsoever

My dad came in to my room the day after(?) it happened, asking me if I had seen the news. At first I unironically thought he was talking about something else I’m not gonna mention what, but he was talking about that even showing me the video of him being shot, uncensored. (Note that this was late at night, which he then told me to go to bed afterwards) He was really upset and I didn’t know who Charlie Kirk was at the time, but it was kind of awkward because I wasn’t sure what he was expecting from me when he told me this like was I supposed to cry or-? I’m not sure why he told me this, if it was to show me how cruel the world can be or, (regarding recent events about religion in my family) if this was a way to convert me to Christianity which I brushed off because that would be an odd way to try and convert me to their faith. I did watch a video about him being hateful towards Muslims so I was somewhat educated on him yet didn’t know enough about him at that time to form an opinion. I don’t think he should have died, but considering he compared abortion to the holocaust at one point, I don’t support his beliefs in any way.

Not everything is “clout” imo, I think it’s important to talk about and care about things

"He was a dangerous man"? Bro, maybe his murderer was a dangerous man, no? Charlie wasn't hurting anyone, he was just saying his opinion. He wasn't a thief, he wasn't a maniac, he was an ordinary person:( And although I also disagree with his opinions in many ways, I will not call him a "bad person" because of this.

so many people were lying about his family being there to witness it and straight up making up headcanons for his death as a way to push harmful ideologies

yummi!
If you’re someone who’s latched onto the Charlie Kirk incident and made content regarding it before a significant amount of information came out, I will take it that your views on it are performative and a chance for clout. This goes for both sides, as many people have used this (and many other things) as a means to push a narrative (any narrative, good bad or neutral). This is news, this is history, this is reality, this is not another internet drama to simply cover and profit off of angry discourse.
We need to normalize waiting for official information to come out regarding these things. When you make content the second something happens, it is highly likely you will misreport what happened. I am fine with people expressing their opinions, as everyone should be, you just need to have INFORMED opinions. You cannot jump onto every small detail to make a new video, because new details + new evidence leads to new conclusions and new beliefs.
I do not like Charlie Kirk. He was a dangerous man to my community and myself. He is responsible for a lot of hate, harassment, misinformation, and crimes against minority groups, and this should not be forgotten. This post is to say that youtubers and tiktokers are not official news sources, and if you wanna pretend to be, wait for the big leagues to do the work for you before you report on an incident.
This is directed towards hundreds of people, and I have seen numerous accounts of people spreading FALSE information because of the people playing news reporter.
