Asked why security agencies didn’t pick up the movement of terrorists in such a major #tourist spot, the officer said the modus operandi of the terrorists has changed drastically, making it difficult to keep tabs.

“We had inputs about some movement, but not in this particular area. We were anticipating an attempt to carry out a terror attack on the railways or non-local workers, and we had taken preventive measures accordingly,” he said.

The terrorists roamed freely as there was no security. Even when they had information about their entry and timeline and comprehension of activity yet our security agencies failed to stop such heinous mayhem to occur. I am sure our security forces will definitely take befitting action against the men behind this act. We need to tighten our security arrangements for the local people as well as the tourists.

This is a complete intelligence failure, even after the Phulvama attack the government once again failed to protect the lifes of people, the homeminister should own the responsibility and resign first, India needs an retired Army general as homeminister.

Isn't it the primary job of security agencies to anticipate and outthink insurgents?

This appears very logical to me(and i may be wrong here) as I think the local militant terrorists were the one who asked questions and told people to pull their pants off before shooting them or may the other pakistani terrorist accompanying did the shooting.i am seeing a patten here as there were terrorist activities that happened before which didn't involved any survivors claiming that they were interrogated about their religion and looking at the current political and societal polarization of religious communities under the current regime which had turned even the peace loving hindu netizens into silent muslim haters that might have been used by the terrorists as a way to add fuel to fire to the situation thus acting out a very heinous and evil act of further breaking the country from within. The hate which now is rampant and forthcoming from those who never had shown their emotions online is very evident now. Moreover the strong symbolic imagery of the woman who was somehow spared seen holding her deceased husband had further infuriated the netizens which may or may not be part of a plan to use emotions as a tool to further hate and terror.

Still it doesn’t excuse terrorist in attacking innocent people and if Pakistan orchestrated this they should pay heavily. Any country that orchestrates such heinous acts should be severely punished

Come on. I can understand these reason pre digital era. Now we have AI, drones etc to cover large areas in short period if time. Kashmir is not a very large place. If you can't even track them in these small areas then it's a failure. Here some ppl talk about akhand bharat. We can't even get back Aksai Chin and POK. Atleast try to protect those areas which we have .
