Disney just keeps proving that they care more about money than morals.

I'm still not renewing my Disney. They're only doing it for money, not because it's the right thing to do. I'm still not shopping at Target since January for the same reason. Too little too late.

I don't personally watch his show, not my thing, but I absolutely support his right to free speech and oppose the government violating the first ammendment.

BUT BUT... THE FASCISTS WON'T ALLOW IT! THE ORANGE MAN TOOK HIM OFF THE AIR! Weird that the federal government's orders are being ignored... or... Is that not what happened?

Walt Disney went from an animation innovator to a media powerhouse, almost monopoly at this point... But now it's something entirely different.... The Wonderful Stock Of Disney

Edit: to those who keep reiterating that the 1st Amendment does not apply to businesses and who they hire and fire, I am well aware, as I have made clear in my comment (if you read past the first sentence before replying) and in multiple replies. My argument is that the director of the FCC implied that they were directly stepping in to force Kimmelâs employer to pull him off the air. That would be the government deciding what speech is and isnât acceptable, not his employer. I couldnât care less if Kimmel stays on the air. I find him unfunny and mean-spirited, and many of his political assertions are factually incorrect. Also, Iâm conservative, for those who keep commenting âoH, sO nOw tHe lEfT iS fOr fReE sPeEChđ¤â To say I'm not a fan of Jimmy would be putting it mildly, but this was 100% a First Amendment violation. The joke was about the president, not Charlie Kirk, so that explanation holds no water. It could be argued that the joke was in poor taste, but he wasn't insulting a dead man. Also, the FCC director literally admitted that they were going to pressure Nexstar to remove him from the air, heavily implying that the FCC wouldn't approve Nexstar's merger if Kimmel wasn't pulled. If Disney made the decision themselves for PR reasons, that would have been a business decision, but this was 100% the government suppressing free speech

"Thoughtful conversation" means they lost a lot of money because they didn't have a spine to stand up to Trump's administration so they decided to grow one and get their money back and be on the right side of history. Don't get it twisted people, Disney only cares about their bottom line not Jimmy Kimmel or his right to free speech.

Glad to see that when non-billionaires work together we can still get a win.
