Monster Maze

G'day everyone!

What did you guys think of the new Age of Imprisonment trailer? I'm definitely getting excited, and It looks like it could be a great send-off for the Era of the Wild story arc.

I'm also curious what you thought about the reveal at the end. You can clearly hear Fi's theme playing as the camera moves through the hallway. What could this mean? Will Fi's essence be housed inside a killer robot, similar to Mineru in TotK?! Could we learn more about the history of the Master Sword in this era? Feel free to share your ideas!

Anyway, I hope you have a good week!

Don

@DanielZeal

If you notice, the end scene is a reference to Link incarnating at the Shrine of Resurrection. I have long guessed that Link will be playable, just as he is in every other Hyrule Warriors game. Maybe it will be a construct made to behave like Link, and will be powered by Fi through her connection to the spirit of the hero. That's my only guess.

I really hope Ganondorf gets a lot of screen time, I know this is an unpopular opinion but I actually really liked TOTK Ganondorf but he got so little screen time so I still felt disappointed.

When I saw that scene during the direct, I immediately asked (myself) "is that the Ancient Hero?"

i'm mostly looking forward to meeting the original sages! the gerudo one is so pretty, and i love the combo attacks the goron and rito one pulled off! i feel like fi's theme is used more or less as the master sword's theme in botw/totk, so it's probably more just a nod to mineru and zelda's plan to restore the sword involving the construct mineru made to house herself? if it does turn out to be more that'll be neat but i'm keeping my hype to a minimum personally. just so my own hopes inadvertantly make me disappointed in the final product.

@powerguy3976

I /really/ hope they don’t make some stupid excuse to put Link in this game and give him more content and focus than the other characters. I hope content is evenly spread out amongst the cast, unlike the first two games.

I definitely believe it's Fi but gameplay wise I am thinking it will replace Link's role as the standard swordsman character. Makes sense for Fi to fit that role, it's even possible that she could wield one of the master swords late game.

@HylianMew

I wonder, since Zelda gets the broken Master Sword sent to her by Link, could that end cutscene with Fi's theme be something like them using what power is left in the sword to create this construct with Link's abilities? It's gonna have something to do with it cause Zelda has the sword with her during this time! So excited for this!!!

@CrimsonC-z6j

I hope they showcase the version of Koume and Kotake (twinrova) that were kneeling behind Ganondorf in that Totk Dragon tear memory. (Just played the oracle games linked ending)

I have my problems with TotK's story, but I like Fi so much that I'm excited to learn more about her.

I think this is worth mentioning: if Fi comes back, Fi is perhaps the single most important lore character to ever be reintroduced into the series. She has been the companion of several Links and been present since before Hyrule’s first foundation, perhaps older, and has been present in all 3 timeline branches. If anyone alive could clarify the current state of events, it would be her

@markamurphy453

I definitely think it's some sort of Link/Spirit of the hero character. Maybe Mineru is able to use her powers to bind the spirit of the hero to the construct, like she did to herself in TOTK I also like the idea that Mineru heard Zelda's stories about Link and just said "I can build that" and made a perfect copy of him. But the Fi music makes me more convinced that it literally has the spirit of the hero, rather than just a copy

I honestly like that they're not quite done with the lore from TOTK. When I first played it, things felt...a bit rushed. I've gotten the sense that Covid really screwed them up while it was being made, what with the shutdowns and delays in release. I kind of felt like they just wanted to be done with it so they could move on to getting the next title out(Echoes of Wisdom). I felt like there was still potential for deeper storytelling, like how they added the Zelda notes recently and it seems like they hit on a perfect medium to do it here. Maybe to close things out as they prepare for the next entry in the series.

@friend_trilobot

The robot is modeled differently then mineru, it looks like the ancient hero's aspect - same details and feet shape - I feel like it implies the spirit of link, or the Ancient hero, or the spirit of the hero generically, or a past link will be housed in it, allowing them to appear anachronistically

The Ancient Hero? Perhaps he really was a Construct Hero.

@Xfushion2

I always wondered if Zelda, in the past, even suggested looking for the Master Sword. Since it should exist as Skyward sword is supposedly still the earliest game in the series. But in the memory Zelda explains to Mineru how she plans to fixed the Master Sword that travelled from the future, the latter doesn't even seem to recognize the weapon in the first place which is odd. So either the Master Sword wasn't a thing back there (which just makes things even more confusing) or it is a thing and they are teasing it where, which opens another can of worms. Because of they had it why did they lost?
