I need to solve something? I was asked to find a way to teach remembering multiplication tables. 1-5s are easy to learn, but 6-9 are harder too remember. I made my 2 little fingers equal 6. My 2 ring fingers equal 7. My middle fingers equal 8. An index/pointer fingers 9. Looking at both hands, fingers pointing at each other, looking at both palms, but don't touch any fingers! Let's say, you want to recall 9X9? Only touch 2- 9 fingers together (pointer fingers). Add up the 2 fingers touching together plus all fingers below fingers touching, are all worth 10 each. Or 8X10=80. Now multiply the fingers above touching fingers. 1 on one hand an one above fingers touching on other hand for: 1X1=1 for total of 81, (9X9=81). Let's multiply 7X9=? Touch 7 ring fingers to pointer index 9 finger. You have 6 (tens- fingers touching an below). For ones you have 1 finger above touching fingers an 3 on other hand above touching fingers. Multiple 1X3=3.for 63. This seems complicated in writing, but it's an easy indentifier reference for 6s through 9s multipliers. My question, I discovered this method because I was resting my head in my hands with a headache. You can't solve math questions because of a headache? How an why does this work for all multipliers from 6 to 9s?
