Just watched the movie Great Outdoors with John Candy and Dan Akroyd. The Beer is intent on getting into the cabin. Enjoy nature, wish I could be out there too!

I’ve been telling people for a few years now that we had bears in Oklahoma

We've caught an at least 100lb mountain lion on trail cams in creek county up here

I had one pop up on me and my hounds on Drummond island Michigan not long ago. She had cubs, guess she wanted to steal some Doritos and leave 😂 But yeah, better off carrying than not. I like my 10mm with 175 grain/ .300 blackout/ .44 mag. Those SOB’s always like to pop out of nowhere on me backpacking. Not sure they’re suppose to be that stealthy. Stay safe

🤯 Glad you are alright. My friend showed me pics of black bear she was hunting one time. The noses were dirty and faces looked ugly. Just stand still if it's black but play dead and hide you head and stomach if it's grizzly. No guarantees but worth a shot, so the experts say. Be prepared for wet tongue, strong paws and claws and an awful smell when a bear is up close, maybe getting personal

I knew we had bears but I’ve never seen signs of them. We moved further east toward drumright and we’re off grid. I hope we don’t come across any.

Can you hunt bear there in Oklahoma? I bet he would taste really well on an open fire or even your solar powered stove

Stay vigilant around your home. They are habitual animals and will return to where they have previously found food and if that food is inaccessible (pigs locked away) they will go looking in the vicinity and are generally more forceful about it. Its a bit better being in a more hospitable area where they are less likely to become desperate for food. They are ruthless and relentless in the Arctic circle, if they find your cabin they will return again and again to try to eat you until you put the bear down. There's a vice documentary of the guy who lives up there off grid and he is constantly having to go and shoot bears outside his cabin because they never leave him alone if he doesn't.
