It was a beautiful, sunny day on The Grounds. Sun was shining brightly (and luckily not threatening anyone). Pomni and Jax were sitting in the grass, and Ragatha and Gangle were picking flowers. Zooble and Kinger were in the tent since they wanted to be inside at the moment.
It was warm, but also windy. The flowers were all swaying in the breeze, making them harder to pick. "Hey! Hold still, flowers!" Gangle said, giggling. "Yeah!" Ragatha agreed. "Otherwise, we'll be here all afternoon!"
Little did the ragdoll and the ribbon girl know that the flowers were also releasing a lot of pollen into the air. The pollen was a very light yellow, so it was barely noticeable. It began to float in Gangle, Pomni, and Jax's direction.
A large cloud had gotten into Gangle's face, causing her eyes to water. At about the same time, another large cloud had gotten into both Pomni and Jax's face, their eyes watering also.
"Achew! Chew! Ah- achew!" Gangle sneezed 3 times into her hands, catching Ragatha off-guard. "Bless you!" She said. "Th-thanks...," Gangle replied, rubbing her nose with her left hand. Her eyes were filled with allergic tears.
Pomni didn't sneeze, however. She just coughed and rubbed her eyes. The pollen was irritating her throat rather than her nose. But that didn't mean it was the same for Jax.
In fact, he sneezed 2 times into the back of his right hand. One sounded like a "Tch!" and the other sounded like a "Shu!" He then groaned and rubbed his nose with that same hand.
"Bl- Bless you," Pomni said, trying not to cough again. "Thanks...," Jax replied, a bit embarrassed.
Ragatha still hadn't noticed the pollen nor had been affected by it. "What's the matter, you 3? You're not getting sick, are you?" She asked. "No!" Jax replied in frustration. "It's this stupid hay fever!"
"Yeah!" Gangle piped in. "The pollen from these flowers must've gotten in the air!" Ragatha then finally understood the problem. "Oh! I think you're right, Gangle!" Luckily, the majority of the pollen that was airborne had been blown away, not to be inhaled by anyone else.
"Perhaps we should find another place to rest," Pomni suggested, and the other 3 nodded in agreement. Also, just to be safe, Gangle and Ragatha had decided to leave their flowers behind. The 4 had then found a new spot to rest, one that had no flowers.
They stayed there for the rest of the afternoon, and luckily, no one's hay fever acted up again.
