The new Fast & Furious movie is literally stuck in gear — Universal still hasn’t given the green light for the franchise finale.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the studio wants to make sure the project actually pays off, so they’ve set a strict rule: the budget can’t go over 200 million dollars. For comparison, Fast X cost around 340 million to make.
Right now, Vin Diesel and the crew estimate the new film at about 250 million, which means they’ll need to cut at least 50 million in expenses. If they manage to hit that target, filming is expected to kick off in spring 2026, with the release planned for 2027.
