We probably have more capacity for critical thought than ever, but that doesn't make you immune to propaganda or psychological manipulation. Nor does it make you any more self-reflective. When's the last time any of you had an honest to God, face to face interaction with someone who can calmly articulate a stance that clashes against your own?

We are definitely not in the age of good information & too many people either lack the skills to verify or dont care enough.

No, believe it or not we (humanity) are not getting less intelligent despite what everyone is noticing, what's actually happening is due to the overwhelming amount of information, we are in the chewing phase of processing it all, it's called info glut and it's a real thing but grace is given to those who want to point fingers because even you are stupified by it. Don't worry, we'll be more astute in the next 5 years when everything around us becomes a living nightmare brought on by a ruthless dictatorship. Till then, keep preparing. God bless.

Critical thinking contravenes the current political agendas and mass falsehoods. It's actively being discouraged as a way of thought. The sheer bombardment of available distractions certainly does not help either. There will always be critical thinkers however the prevalence and evidence of such has become easily diluted amongst all the noise.

More information isn't always good, case in point, there are a number of articles saying bleach can kill germs that cause illness, there are also a number of articles saying bleach is poisonous. Yet people still die drinking bleach because they either only read the one they wanted or thought poison was a suggestion like not mixing milk and vinegar when planning dinner
