“Heal me damn you!!” Best I can do is a lute solo as a free action

I can practically hear Neil saying this. Astarion would without a doubt use his last breath to sass you to death for your incompetence

I get that when my martials are getting in melee for hits. Karlach has this longass sword but she's lacking that 1% distance between her and her target so she refuses to hit🙂

"You can throw it at me, tiefling!" Seriously throwing potions has saved my bacon a lot.

This is why healing word is one of the best healing spells in the game.

Astarion: "Oh woe Is your knees having to carry you such a long distance! I'm only BLEEDING TO DEATH!" Durge: "I literally can't move any further regardless of how much I want to!" Astarion: "Well maybe If you started exercising properly -!" Karlach: "By the Hells, they're at It again." Shadowheart: "Just leave the lovebirds to bicker. Unless you want to get dragged Into the argument." Karlach: "I'll just keep focusing on cracking skulls."

hilarious that the vampire is the one like "DO I NEED TO INVITE YOU DOWN HERE?"

Yeah, that's why I always hover my cursor over the target first to make sure I can perform the action I want. Also, get Longstrider. And I recommend using the jump action since it'll cover a few extra feet even at a strength of 8, and at the cost of a bonus action (unless of course you had another plan for that bonus action.

This is still better than Gale drinking a potion, gets downed, healer heals him, gets downed, melee character throws a potion at him, gets downed again

Medium creatures in adjacent spaces during combat are about 10 feet away from each other and that's only during a slice of a sixth second round (a turn is not a full six seconds, but a fraction of it).

New strat: Pick him up instead and throw him at the enemy. Use spooky scary skeleton man to revive him later. Trust me, they won't see him coming.

I know that we play the game in a turnbased fashion like we're playing chess, but you have to remember everything in turn order is happening within the same 6 second timeframe. So if you don't have the movement to get any closer, you have to realize it's because you literally just ran as far and as fast as you could in 6 seconds. To put into perspective just how fast 6 seconds is, Quicklings have a base speed of 120 feet, and according to older monster manuals, they move so quickly sometimes, that they go unnoticed like Dash on the plane in Incredibles.
