I absolutely love falling asleep during yoga nidra, it is literally the only way I can nap during the day, no matter how tired I am. I have ME/CFS, so I have to rest every day or I have a relapse. Your yoga nidras (and dozing off during them) have helped me only have one relapse this entire past year, which is incredible (previously I was having frequent relapses lasting 4 weeks each time). I know I’m still subconsciously getting benefits and paying attention, because I always return to consciousness as soon as you have us return to the breath, or repeat our sankulpas at the end (so I wake up before the yoga nidra ends, at the same place no matter which yoga nidra I am listening to). And it’s so fun listening to the same yoga nidra several times, because each time I hear different parts of it or notice different details during the parts when I am not dozing. I know the goal is to remain awake, but for me, dozing in and out is blissful, and the only way I can completely sink into a restful mind state during the day. Eternally grateful to you!

I have NEVER been able to nap during the day in my entire life, but ever since I started using your yoga nidra videos, I can nap!!! It’s amazing because I’m a performer so I rehearse during the day and then perform at night so an afternoon nap is necessary but I could never sleep. I’ve tried every kind of guided meditation, sleep talk down, sleep story, you name it… yoga nidra is the only thing that works. Thank you so much!

I only listen to Ally for Yoga Nidra. I love the tone of her voice and I use the recordings so that I can get back to sleep after waking at 2:00 or 3:00 am. I'm very thankful that I discovered Ally.

For me, the drifting off to sleep during yoga nidra is peaceful, serene almost. Concentrating on following/doing the yoga nidra keeps the monkey mind at bay 🙏

WOW yes ...so much more than a nap. I have used yoga nidra to recover from ME/CFS.. if I drift off to sleep the feelings I am left with are surreal....my whole body feels lighter and the world has a sparkle gain . It is as if I have been injected with calmness and hope. I feel at peace in myself. It's hard to really describe it full impact ..I just know that it has been absolutely pivotal in my recovery. I only use yourself and Kristyn Rose my gratitude to you both.❤

I actually do yoga nidra most number of times when I wake up in the middle of the night. I have a personality where my sympathetic nervous system easily takes precedence I start accumulating stress within my body without my knowledge, so after 4-5 hours of sleep, I wake up in the middle of the night, with my body begging for sleep but my mind fully awake and I’m not able to just relax and switch off. I toss and turn and try my best for about half an hour and then I start listening to your yoga nidra video, and within 7-8 minutes I can feel my body de stressing and a sense of calmness embracing me! And I sleep like a baby for the next 3-4 hours and when I wake up I can clearly feel the difference between the absolutely restful sleep vs a normal sleep. I feel much more relaxed, I feel much more composed and can see that I operate from my parasympathetic self for the rest of the day! Your yoga nidra videos are a total game changer! Thank you very much Ally 🙏🏻

Not feeling as groggy as a traditional nap when I awaken! Usually I'm woken from the nidra state by my baby crying out on the monitor lol, it feels nice to be able to jump up immediately and not feel like I'm the walking dead!

I reliably fell asleep when I first started practicing with your videos in 2022 - I took it as a sign that it was a gateway to sleep that I very much needed. Now I'm generally in a healthier place in life and find myself enjoying drifting between the various states and appreciating the process as much as the result. Thank you for everything Ally!

Nidra naps are the most magical phenomena - it's like I'm hovering above consciousness, floating in + out, levitating above my body with very little effort & then peacefully return renewed. I have never been able to nap easily & I often find myself sinking into a delightful rest with yoga nidra. It's truly remarkable. The rotation of consciousness is like a total nervous system massage. So grateful for you & sharing your gifts with the world 🙏🤍

I actually use your videos to help me get back to sleep when I wake up at 3am! It's so soothing and the only thing that quiets the mind.

If I wake up in the middle of the night and need more sleep, I can always count on your videos to put me right back to sleep, and it is sweet sleep! Namaste. 🙏

After falling asleep for months and months practicing YN ….i finally got the rest I needed. I am more emotionally resilient and clear headed. Falling asleep during yoga Nidra was lovely but I almost always heard the return to reality. It was a very peaceful refreshing rest.

A deeper rest is what I experience in general - whether I fall asleep or not. My muscles release tension and it’s kind of euphoric.

I often find I have drifted into a semi conscious state where, ridiculous as it may sound, I’m neither asleep or awake, but always become alert at the end of the practice feeling fully refreshed. Thank you Ally, I’m sure it’s because of your wonderful soothing voice. With love & good wishes to you & all colleagues & followers 💕

It is so …. Uplifting honestly , to fall into a totally relaxed rest/sleep. It has allowed me to sense how many times I am tensed up , through out the day. Perhaps I haven’t understood just how rigid/tense I am all over , before experiencing your yoga nidras. Helping me reach more calm and peace each day ♥️♥️ (that has been a personal goal since 2013). Thankyou!!

If I do fall asleep during a Yoga Nidra I notice my mood is definitely more elevated when I wake - I feel far more calm & peaceful. Practising YN has benefitted my mental health, enables rest when I'm unable to sleep (as a chronic insomniac!), & helps with rest to manage life with ME/CFS. It's a wonderful meditative experience - thank you for your teachings Ally 🙏

I am new to the whole meditation concept. Found your channel early on. The detailed , lyrical , soothing narrative is so inviting that it has become routine to listen, meditate, and drift off to sleep. It has not only improved my sleep patterns, but my outlook on many things. Thank you for this powerful, life changing gift. May the universe reward you .

I fall asleep in the middle of almost every one of your yoga nidra practices and can still tell a difference the next day. I have chronic anxiety but feel calmer and more centered with daily practice. I don't feel right if I skip more than a day or two!

For those of you who report regularly falling asleep during your yoga nidra practice, what are some of the benefits you notice in your life even though you’ve drifted off to sleep?
Do you notice anything beyond what you would notice with a simple nap?
I’d love to hear your experiences!
