Does the NBA inject politics into the league too often? 😳

@Jokerfox42

It's was at it's peak in the bubble season, it has been toned down somewhat the last few seasons to the point that I'm watching again.

@TheTurtlebot

They dont really inject politics, the players want to use their platforms to spread their beliefs in a positive way and the nba doesn't want to stifle their players and make them unhappy

Every time I think of an nba politician I always picture lebron with those shades and a book in his hand acting like he know something 😂

I've never heard anyone ask LeBron his opinion about the trans community. It would be fun to ask him that. I mean he's Mr woke, but if you know anything about the black community, they tend to be more religious and hate anything gay related. Someone should ask him. And before anyone calls out racism, I'm Hispanic. I'm part of this Uber religious culture where anything gay related or acceptance is looked down upon and attacked. So I'm well aware how things work

I get that the NBA and all the great players want to use their platforms to try to change things but in reality, nothing will ever change.

UFC brings Trump and other politicians to their shows and promote them. Black men wanting their people treated equally isn’t politics

To the extent that politics equals revenue,yes.

They still use terms like “the first black _____”. So yeah they do. Instead of making it a human achievement, race always plays a part. Now they don’t want jokic to win another mvp because it would be racist against embiid.

When the almost unanimous majority of stars come from a minority and vastly more poverty filled background, being used by the majority privileged for entertainment, it’s literally unavoidable. But people want to enjoy the fruits of these peoples labour without acknowledging their struggle. And honestly people like that disgust me.

It's about basketball the game not politics

@FlipTheShmoney

It’s not the league that injects politics but if they don’t get in their players way like roger goodell which creates an even bigger problem

Do you remember when sports was a safe place to bring people together sports rivalries aside? Yeah let's make that political too so we absolutely have nothing left to unite us and let's be divided in every little aspect of life as much as possible
