Night Shift

There's been a staggering amount of fake bot accounts spamming "You won a prize - contact me on Telegram" under my videos, and I'm presuming it's happening all over Youtube if they found a small and niche channel such as mine.
These are NOT ME! I received several messages from people asking if this is legit, and it just isn't. If you find a similar reply under your comments, note that the account isn't ‪@NightShiftScaleModels‬ but some random variation of my name with a stolen logo.
I keep deleting these accounts whenever I see them, but it's impossible to stay on guard 24/7. I'm surprised Youtube hasn't addressed this in some way already, because it's really getting out of hand, and, sadly, some people almost got scammed already.
I would never tell someone they won something (some of the prizes were quite ridiculous - gaming PC, new iPad, etc., but most of these comments didn't mention a specific prize) without announcing a raffle or a competition in the first place.
The reason why I never made a giveaway or something similar is because there are strict laws for these events, and it honestly discouraged me. I always do these kinds of things by the book, and I definitely wouldn't like to do something illegal, especially if it were due to my lack of knowledge.
Anyway, I'm working hard on the next video with a full diorama, and I can already tell it's gonna be a big one!

@Warshipmodelsunderway

I guess in a weird way, it's a sign you have achieve a certain level of success with your channel. As watchers, we can report these as we run across them.

@TheModelGuy

How do we know that this is the real NightShift? Seems a lot like what a bot would say

Hey man, I bought the Trumpeter Object 490b and was wondering if you'd do a video on it, it's my favorite tank and no Youtuber has done a video on the model yet, it's amazing and is love to see you enjoy working on it!

@markodukic597

Thanks, Nightshift. I thought it was kind of strange. I replied, but then thought about after I replied that it was a scam. Never gave them any info., so I am glad u cleared the air.

Yes, I got that same type of threat in an email from you and thought it was fake. Good to know it’s true. Thanks for the heads up. Cheers!

What airbrush do you use/recommend, as I am looking to get one

I subscribed to a couple of hundred random recommended channels weeks ago to find this out. I'm afraid these bots are only targeting certain demographics. I think it's less about money and more about disrupting certain channels that cater to certain people. They want us to shut our notifications off. You like cycling, model making, and astrophotography. Can you guess this demographic? This is a rhetorical question. Don't answer it and don't even engage in this discussion but be aware. EDIT: I did this because my wife and I eventually noticed that I get these spam replies to practically all of my comments on the channels I watch and she has never gotten any. After commenting on channels well outside of my range of interests and getting no spam from those ones, it became very apparent what is going on.

@patrickhagelstein1810

I’m in it for the models and dioramas anyway. I couldn’t be bothered by a gaming PC anyway. 😜 But it’s sad that scammers even found this little place of piece and quite (even though it’s black primer underneath)…

@stevepritchard3970

Yes, they are everywhere at the moment, just hit the three dots and report them . If enough people do that, YT may take action.

Yeah, they just aren't on Nich channels. it's like when scam callers got the number spoofer to go with their old autodialer.

@nobodyspecial4702

They're on every site. Youtube doesn't care so they allow them.

@davefave4351

This happens often on the Ukranian war channels that I'm following- just report immediately as 'unwanted commercial/spam' by clicking on the three little dots to the right of the message...

@xommul79

I think everyone’s been getting this message, I’d be drowning in prizes if it was real
