STOP BLAMING YOUR BODY FOR “BAD” SUMMER PHOTOS 📸 I know it’s tempting… swimwear, harsh light, and insecurities can make every detail feel magnified. But here’s the truth: it’s not your body. It’s how the photo is set up.
Minor adjustments in lighting, camera angle, and pose completely change the result. For instance, let’s compare these two photos…
LIGHTING ❌ I’m standing in direct sunlight in midday which creates stark highlights and contrasts on my skin and makes my skin’s texture more apparent. ✅ In moving myself a few inches, I am within the shadow of the palm tree which gives my skin a much more even tone.
CAMERA ANGLE ❌ Tilting the camera lens downward gives more space between my head and the palm trees (only the trunks are visible.) ❌ Taking the photo from a higher angle places my bust as the focus of the photo.
✅ Lowering the camera angle allows the viewer to see the palm trees. ✅ My body looks longer and much more proportional.
POSE Believe it or not, with the exception of my hand placement, these poses are very similar! In addition, I have my weight shifted to the leg that’s farthest from the camera in both photos.
👉 Here’s the truth: My body didn’t change between those two photos. The setup did.
