A face from 12,000 years ago has resurfaced in Türkiye.

During ongoing excavations at Karahantepe in Sanliurfa province, researchers uncovered a T-shaped pillar carved with a human face, the first of its kind.

With its sharp features and deep-set eyes, the find suggests that Neolithic communities in Anatolia were not only builders but were also expressing individuality and self-awareness long before written history began.
