just another comment when I was 16 I built a fake LT1 I used a 4 bolt main block The LT1 cam, crank from the motor, I had a set of forged rods, only had 194 heads no 202's and 11.0 to 1 pistons. the only problems i ever had with the engine were low octane fuel and the rocker arms, because lack of funds caused me to use the same rockers that were on the heads from factory, just the stamped steel. Made me wonder how GM made them stay together in 1970, but that's the same used on 1966 for the 302 as far as i know I wasn't old enough then to see any for real I was only 2 in 66 and 6 in 1970.

I am making this comment here because the video didn't have a place for one, it's about the budget 350 build for the 70 monte carlo. If you use a 1970&1/2 cam for a 350 LT1 with some variable duratin lifters, because it is a solid lifter cam and regular hydraulics sont work, they pump up and hold the valves open at high rpm's, I know I've tried it before. And I also know it's hard to find variable duration lifters that work as advertised. Anyway if you use that cam you should surpass 375 hp.
