My only complaint is that I wish we got to see more of Tarkir and that we didn't get to witness the downfall of the dragonlords on cards.

A+ It feels like Magic again and I can't find any faults with it. Fun limited environment, interesting cards for eternal formats, nostalgia and references to the original block, and fun new card treatments for those who care about that sort of thing.

S tier, I've only been playing single MaKM but this set has got me super into the game and the lore

Solid A, the mechanics are fun, they're not too powerful in standard but also not so weak that some new modern staples are gonna pop out of this set by the time we're on yo not magic

Hasbro popping the buttons on their pants with how excited they are to see how much favor they gain back with one good set every 18 months. New standard is set lol

My biggest complaints are with the look of the Ainok and the Abzan armor, and that Shiko and Narset is a single card while the rest of the dragons and khans each got two separate cards each. But those are minor nitpicks in what is otherwise an A+ or S tier set. It really feels like the best of both KTK and DTK while being its own unique thing. The shifting of the clans to center on the enemy color gives them all a distinct flavor and focus compared to the khans version. And while I'm not someone who complains about "hat sets" and feels that Duskmourn is one of the most interesting and compelling new planes they've introduced, I do understand the reaction of "it's a real magic set again!" I started playing around Gatecrash, but Tarkir was the first set to really grip me and not let go, so this whole set feels like coming home.

I wish I could afford Dragonstorm and especially that buying play boosters didn't feel like such a bad deal. Set boosters were great for cracking packs and having fun with a lot of new cards, draft boosters were a cheaper entry for playing limited. With more variance but less value, 30 packs in box but higher prices than ever, play boosters are the worst of both worlds, and such a poor value proposition that I can't really buy packs.

Fantastic set, one of the best in years! Hopefully not the swansong of MTG before Universes Beyond and goofy Aetherdrift sets swallow it up.

The plane was effectively deleted and rebooted for absolutely no reason but at least some of the cards are nice and the mechanics aren't fighting with themselves like in aetherdrift. Dreading return to Lorwyn now though.

Great set. Didn’t play the original block so no nostalgia for me, but I like the wedge set design and the mechanics. Has been interesting to build and draft. Would have liked a special treatment and reprint slot for old tarkir cards. After this and foundations, I really would like Wizards to commit to a healthy mix of serious sets to go with the UB stuff (it’s not going away) and ditch the meme sets.

I thought the mana base for the commander decks was a bit bad. It sounds like they cared more about flavor than actually making the man up bases more functional. Especially when it came to the dragon tribal deck.

Wish the cards told more of a story as opposed to just establishing a setting

Dont like it and not getting any cards from it but maybe future sets will have me revisit for some singles

What grade would you give Tarkir: Dragonstorm? What do you feel are the best and worst things about Magic: The Gathering's newest set? Which formats do you play and which cards are you grabbing for your decks?
