You're in for a real musical treat with Nier Automata. * City Ruins (Rays of Light) * Memories of Dust * Amusement Park * A Beautiful Song * Grandma (Destruction) Heads up that many Nier Automata OST tracks are longer (4-5+ mins) because there are multiple forms of each song (ex. a minimalist/subdued version, a standard one, and a very active one). The game transitions seamlessly between the versions depending on situation, hence why it makes sense to combine them together in the OST.

Completely out of the blue, but I'd suggest to look into Hades and Hades 2 from supergiant games if you haven't already

You have great taste. I'd make a case for Expedition 33, Nier Automata, and Hollow Knight/Hollow Knight Silksong making it easily to the top 10 games of all times list. And the scores sure play a big role in that.

NieR is something that really deepened my passion for music and music in video games. Really excited you are considering it! My favorite track is the appropriately named "A Beautiful Song"

For Nier Autotomato, the two I'd recommend are "Amusement Park" and "A Beautiful Song."

A Beautiful Song, Amusement Park, War and War, City Ruins - Shade, Birth of a Wish, Forest Kingdom, and Alien Manifestation are probably my favorite tracks from that game. Enjoy, go in blind, and have fun.

For Nier I love Alien Manifestation but I prefer how it is introduced in the game over how it is on the OST. Also, a nice topic for Nier Automata is how they use OST arrangements based on what is happening in the game. Don't want to spoil things but a song can be presented differently based on the in game context and I'm pretty sure it is dynamic.

Ohhhh Nier Automata is one of my favorites, both for the OST and the game. I'm looking forward to your interpretations of them

Does Nier Gestalt counts? If it is I'd say "Shadowlord - Nier Gestalt"

If you do intend to move on from Hollow Knight/Silksong, I would highly, highly recommend listening to Sealed Vessel first. It's the best song on both soundtracks and has a ton of violin xD.

Ahh I’m excited for you. Nier Automata is one of my favorites osts to this day that I still listen to. I could recommend so many but idk how much you want to hear before playing. Here’s a few I would recommend: City Ruins - Rays of Light A Beautiful Song Grandma (Destruction) Possessed by Disease Wretched Weaponry Sound of the End.

So I know I still have quite a bit of Silksong/Hollow Knight tracks to get through, but I’m also trying to plan out my next filming sessions and gaming schedule…I think it might finally be time for me to play NieR Automata soon, and since I’m not really familiar with the music I definitely want to film some stuff for that before I start it. Let me know any tracks you want me to listen to and discuss!
I’m also debating if I want to do any videos for Zelda Age of Imprisonment - I was OBSESSED with the soundtrack for Age of Calamity, but it might be hard to react to this one if I am playing it from day 1, as the soundtrack probably won’t be available to listen to on its own right away….what do you all think? Would you be interested to see some Age of Imprisonment reactions?
