I don't intend on hammering in nails with my radio. I still prefer the features of the 705.

I bought one to go along with my Lab599 because I like neat electronic gadgets 😊 I look forward to playing with this in the field. I do miss a tuning encoder, and I’m curious to how well it is implemented on the LiNK500MP. I love the fact that we have several choices for field radios and I’m looking forward to more videos on this radio system

Yes, as my primary man-portable. Size and weight profile in addition to versatility of power options makes it a solid win for on-body applications. Very worth the compromise in output power. For operations involving more people, where I could divide the weight of a more powerful (and heavier) unit and all its support gear, I would step up into something larger that took longer to rig up. Or for a static or vehicle-born rig. But for field work where every pound of support gear reduces mobility, speed, and endurance? Absolutely. I just wish that it could interface via Bluetooth, too.

If I was REALLY concerned with ruggedized ops then yes. I know where it's made and I know where you operate so that covers all the bases. For everything else my 705 is enough. Anyway, thanks for the video!

It'll be great when Waters&Stanton et al sell this. Christmas is approaching.

It may very well be my choice as main field radio BUT it’s tough to pick the streamlined version, even with its built in tuner and the nice form factor of the data mode accessory, over the versatility of the spectrum display. I’m still convincing others in my circle to try out HF with me which would make a channelized approach make more sense than it currently does for someone with no “radio friends.”

The original TX-500 has become my main rig due to size. It's so portable, there's little need to take it out of the car. It would be the same for the MP plus there's a tuber

I really like what i see but already too invested in the original 500.

I have an FTX-1 Field, considering selling it for the MP. My VHF/UHF needs ate met by HTs and the full 10W on internal batter is nice compared to the 6W of the Yaesu. Still debating and waiting to see the actual price.

I may eventually get one, but got a 705 almost two weeks ago.

I am very interested but availability is a big issue. Cheers Andrew VK2ZRK

I would order one, but I feel they really messed up not having a sound card. I’ll keep my 705.

Any ideas where you can buy this radio? It doesn't show on their own website...

Off-Grid Ham Radio OH8STN
🚀 Huge thanks, Operators! The new Lab599 TX-500MP video just passed 10,000 views in the first 24 hours and is holding strong at #1 of 10 on the channel.
Question for you:
Would you run the TX-500MP as your main off-grid HF rig?
▶️ Haven’t seen it yet? Watch here: https://youtu.be/oQKY1BZIOwY
