It's 10 minutes before dinner, you're sitting quietly at home, and the boss sends you this picture.
What do you text him in reply?

@DryW4t3r

Oh, the CLA-15? Yeah those have a built in clock that only allowes them to be tampered with on Mondays between 9am and 2 pm. A shame really…

Oh great it's coax. Simple enough. Glad you don't need me as you have a great wealth of knowledge and capabilities and can clearly handle such a thing yourself. Thanks for the pictures I'll text you after dinner and see how it turned out. Thank You For Your Time And Effort!

@damonculbert5853

That sucks. I’ve been drinkin’ since noon. So then, no matter what he cannot make me come into work to try to deal with that because I’m drunk.

Oh that reminds me of that time when one of my outlets decided to break the neutral connection. But due to old wiring codes the neutral and earth was bound together in the socket. So bit of a circuit there. To for the phase get to neutral and still power all my devices it went as such… phase > device > neutral > earth > network switch (with shielded network cables) > multimedia computer (DC powered) > hdmi to TV > TV coax. Since that also took down my internet I investigated an received a hefty shock that hospitalised me for several days. I mean computer in lap and right hand and hdmi in left hand. Could only get rid of it because I fell backwards and ripped the cable out of my hand. Called emergency after I came to senses again. But the coax in the main box looked not far from that.

Hmm the feed cable needs to be checked, the surge arrestor will need replacement and the down stream cable and distribution box need to be checked as well. If the feed cable has an internal short it's gonna have to wait till Monday.

In my experience as a cable technician that usually happens when something shorts to ground but can’t reach ground correctly. Basically grounds back through the input cable

Even the coax would rather burst into flames than stream more Bridgerton

@halfcircleworkshop

That's actually a scary think I work in catv and now would be the time to break out an amp clamp something is likely dumping current onto the ground and the cable drop is a better ground than the ground.

@lokiva8540

"Did you get any good pictures of that lightning hit?" Seriously, that's a symptom of common reckless grounding and bonding by cable installers, who in many states, are treated as outside electric code enforcement. But, they're skilled at weaseling out of consequential damages for customer equipment even if metal around connectors literally vaporizes.
