20 October - Act Airlines Flight EK9788, a Boeing 747-481, TC-ACF, was destroyed when it veered off the left side of runway 07L at Hong Kong International Airport. The airplane struck a ground service vehicle before coming to rest in the sea. One person on the ground was killed. The flight crew were rescued. Another person who was in the ground vehicle initially survived but later died in hospital.
