I myself am not apart of the community, but I’m a proud brother to a queer. When my brother told me first who he truly was, I was so proud I was so glad he felt safe to tell me. The ̶W̶h̶i̶t̶e̶ RAINBOW House 🏳️🌈🇺🇸🏳️⚧️ 9 years ago today, the USA legalized gay marriage. Today, our President pardoned thousands of gay veterans who were convicted of having gay s*x while serving in the military. They are now free to get all of the military benefits they lost.
When I was a kid, I was constantly bullied for being gay. When I turned 18, I wasn’t legally allowed to get married. Today, I stood beneath The White House, looking up its 7-story-tall pillars…and I saw a rainbow. My flag—our flag—on our nation’s most important building. 🥹😭🌈
I wish little Josh were here to see this day🥺 But something inside tells me he’s here, smiling and teary eyed at the unbelievable progress our world has made.
We still have a very long way to go, but today and every day, we are here and WE ARE QUEER. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
