Who Would Win?

@papabearjonez

Hard to say which one would win.. I remember from an interview I saw where they both were on some talk show, Ali got asked the question whether he would win in a fight or Tyson and Ali said Tyson would knock him straight to sleep if he could catch him. Hearing that, Mike laughed and humbly said Ali would win sayin’ these words: “I’m vain, I know I’m great, but can I tell you something? In this situation, every head must bow, every tongue must confess this.. Ali is the greatest of all time. Mutual respect at its finest. 🤝❤

Even Tyson has said that between Him and Ali there’s no doubt Ali would win. Folks need to understand that Ali was the first to take the Scientific Approach. He would study His opponent, find His weaknesses and exploit them. Furthermore, Ali was a Gentleman Boxer. His intent was to win w/o injuring His opponents if at all possible. When he saw His opponents were barely holding on He would call over the Referee to stop the fight. That kind of Compassion for His fellow man was never exhibited by any other Boxer till Ali came on the scene. He earned the Respect of everyone around Him, but especially from His opponents because He showed that one doesn’t need to injure an opponent unnecessarily in order to win. This is what makes Ali the Greatest of all time. I am honored to have lived during His time & witness the true essence of what Constitutes a Man with His dignity & integrity intact forever. Thank you Ali, for showing us that Our Greatest battles are fought with Our Minds & not with Our hands. You will forever be one of my Greatest Heroes alongside Frederick Douglass, Abe Lincoln, Malcolm X, Harriet Tubman, Ida B Wells, etc. The history books shall hold you up as a Shining Example for all to Emulate. I humbly Bow in utter Respect to you, dear friend. (One Love)

@America317

I asked 76 people at my school who would win, 40 said Tyson while 36 said Ali, more students were more likely to say Tyson while Teachers were most likely to say Ali.

Strength vs speed

@eomk

Tyson was like a refined and improved Joe Frazier. As great as Ali was in his prime, Tyson's style, speed, and power would likely overcome Ali's dodging.

Tyson is like most boxers, he trades blows. Ali dodged everything and peppered his opponents. Boxing against someone like that would make anyone angry and anger leads to sloppy moves. Ali the GOAT for a reason

Honestly, it could go either way. Tyson was always very explosive at the start and it only takes one clean punch to KO an opponent. Muhammad Ali wasn’t as hard hitting as Tyson, but he could easily tire Mike out while also taunting him which can be very effective.

Before Vietnam Ali would win. He was a beast. After his return I think Tyson would win.

If you don’t think Ali couldn’t beat Tyson you need to watch Tyson’s loss to Buster Douglas. Ali was very familiar with Cus D’Amato and his peek-a-boo defense. Ali would have been comfortably experienced with the peek-a-boo from fighting D’Amato’s second best fighter Floyd Patterson. Ali, more than likely would have used a very similar strategy that Douglas used to defeat Tyson in using his jab and reach advantage to just wear Tyson out only Ali would have done it with a great deal more skill and speed. Though Tyson certainly had the speed and power to knock anyone out with a single shot Ali fought a whole lot of guys like that and beat them and Ali was brilliant at defense and could take a shot. So that would be an unlikely outcome. If you don’t believe me watch Ali’s two fights against Patterson, a world champion himself, and watch how Ali Picks him apart with his jab. Then watch Tyson vs. Douglass.
