A Different Bias

Remember Chancellor Nadhim Zahawi's multi million pound tax fine and claiming the electricity bill for his stables on parliamentary expenses? Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson's many instances of overt corruption throughout his political career? The billionaire media moghouls gloss over such things, yet if Labour feck up, then they demand resignation and constant repetition. The sheer hypocrisy of the right is breathtaking and the short memory span of the voting public is being constantly manipulated by cynical operators.

As it's a local council thing isn't that a bylaw? Motes and beams spring to mind, thinking of Boris Johnson 🤔

The system isn't broken; it's working exactly as it was designed and created by the super wealthy and the super rich. The super-wealthy use their resources to shape public discourse and influence perceptions. They control the media through ownership, lobbying, and funding think tanks to sway both the public and politicians. This control enables them to shape policy, rules, and taxes, allowing them to pay little or nothing at all. Politicians often receive rewards — either campaign contributions or lucrative jobs after public service — that provide ongoing influence over government decisions. Billionaires, multi-millionaires, and large corporations own media outlets, including TV, print, radio, and, increasingly, social media, all in the interest of protecting their wealth. Then what do ‘they’ (Multi-millionaires, billionaires, and large corporations) do with the control of the narrative? They buy power. Multi-millionaires, billionaires, and large corporations fund politicians and political parties to design policies and tax systems that benefit them—enabling them to pay less tax or avoid it altogether. They then use untaxed money to purchase assets, such as stocks, gold, and real estate—sometimes of companies they own—driving up prices and taking a greater share of wealth, leaving ordinary people with less. The billionaires and multi-millionaires don’t create wealth; they extract it. It’s time for us to unite against these greedy politicians, corporations, and wealthy billionaires. Together, we can close these loopholes and shape tax policy to ensure the rich and super-wealthy pay their fair share. It’s time to tax the rich. We have a system of government that benefits the few (Multi-millionaires, billionaires, and large corporations) and not the many (ordinary people), while we have a taxation system that punishes the many (ordinary people) and benefits the few (Multi-millionaires, billionaires, and large corporations). Tax wealth, not work.😊

Anyone else noticed that pattern of trump hounding women who made a minor discretion, often related to their homes, and what's happening here with reeves and Rayner? Deep dive to some minor sl discretion, blow it up to massive proportions. Meanwhile farage swerves stamp duty, zahawi swerved millions, hunt rigged the tax system to suit his purchase of 7 houses....

Not really sure these are very comparable, but better speculation would surely be that they didn’t want to criticise any aspect of J D (let’s dance) Vance’s trip?

Renting out a home without a license is a bit different to fishing, but I understand the sentiment
