Jesus prophesied that many events would occur before His second return. He first came to bring salvation to the world, and He will come back a second time to gather all who have trusted in Him for salvation. He will judge those that have refused to submit their lives to Him and that have refused to receive the free gift of eternal life. 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 In flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power. Christ prophesied that several events would occur before His return. These events is what He calls the "times of the end" and would include climate phenomenons on earth, strange and rare signs in the heavens (sky), global conflict, unrest of nations, ethnic tensions, and an increase in lawlessness. You can read more about this in Mathew 24, Luke 21, Mark 13, 2 Timothy 3, and Romans 1. In these chapters, He gives details of what the "final moments" on earth would look like. Luke 21:10 Then He (Jesus) said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. Luke 21:11 And there will be great earthquakes in diverse places, famines and pestilences, and there will be fearful sights and great signs in the heavens. Luke 21:25 And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; the distress of nations with perplexity, the seas and the waves roaring. Matthew 24:12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. Joel 2:30 And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, fire and pillars of smoke. Isaiah 24:6 Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, and those who dwell in it are desolate. Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left. 2 Peter 3:7 But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. Revelation 16:9 And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory. 2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. It is sin that separates us from God and it is the death of Jesus that reconciles us back to Him. Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear. Jesus died and rose again so that we could be forgiven and receive eternal life. It is only through faith in His death, burial, and resurrection that we can enter into Heaven. Jesus cleanses us of our sins and removes the dividing wall that sin created. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Ephesians 2:13-14 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. Christ Our Peace. For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation. The bible says that if we confess that He is Lord and have faith that He came as the Savior of the world, we are made righteous through Him and will receive eternal life. Romans 10:9-13 If you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” He is coming back soon and it is not His will that anyone should perish but that all have eternal life. This includes you!
