Hello Modular listeners. last month there was supposed to be an episode of our monthly media cast Analytical Fanboys on the webcomic Matchmaker. That episode wasn’t able to be made. Due to some members current living situation, it is unsafe to talk about the heavy queer themes in the comic. As such we are prioritizing the safety of some members over just making a video/podcast.
However, this isn’t talking. and we can type what ever we want. So while it is not the same, you will get to hear some of Buster’s thoughts on the comic. Matchmaker got me through a hard time when I first read it and every reread has been an immense source of comfort for me. It’s great to see the author get more confident in artwork, humor, and storytelling as the comic goes on. It’s a great retroactive time capsule of a pandemic era world, navigating the new challenges and hardships that have come with the 2020s. Please check it out either physically or digitally.
