Jared Henderson

I'm asked all the time if I have a Goodreads account so that people can follow along with what I'm reading. So, I decided to start one. I'll see if I like using it this year and then decide if I want to continue into the future.

If you want to see what I'm reading, quick ratings of books, etc. you can find me here: www.goodreads.com/user/show/184816038-jared-hender…

This is the first book I'm reading in 2025.

EDIT: A few people encouraged me to try the StoryGraph (mostly to avoid Amazon), so I'll also give it a shot. I was worried that the StoryGraph didn't have enough users to make it worthwhile, to be honest. But if it works, I'll use that instead of Goodreads.

Here's my StoryGraph profile: app.thestorygraph.com/profile/jaredonline

I'd recommend StoryGraph over Goodreads. Has some nifty descriptions and ways to see what readers similar to you are reading. It's also independently owned

@MatthewSchwerdtfeger

There is also Fable, which is really useful for book clubs and has a Spotify like wrapped feature that’s pretty cool

@trolfek

You can import your Goodreads data into StoryGraph quite easily.

I have to finish all the stories, it's an absolute masterwork and it makes me so happy being able to read it in Spanish.

I like Storygraph more that Goodreads by a large margin. I like that it gives me data I'd otherwise have to compile myself and Goodreads really just feels like an additional Amazon storefront for books that tricks you into thinking its a social platform. I'm not using Storygraph for its social features so I can't comment on those, but as a solo reader who is just looking to kind of off-load the tedious parts of data accumulation, it works great and has way less "CONSUME.COSUME." noise associated with it.

A couple of people I know use storygraph, which is independently owned, whereas Goodreads is owned by Amazon, I believe. They have similar features. I suggest checking it out.
