The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand on June 28th 1914 would start a chain of events that would slaughter many brave men and women. After the horrific event, Austria pointed blame on Serbia and declared war. Germany and Russia would soon join in as Germany declared war on Russia. The reason for this is that Germany was an ally to Austria and Russia was an ally to Serbia. Germany would also declare war on France due to France being an ally of Russia. Great Britain would in turn declare war on Germany because they were an ally of France. The United States of America would remain neutral. However, in 1917 the United States would declare war on Germany because they were outraged by Germanys attacks on their ships. In November of the same year, Russia would pull out of the war due to the Bolshevik Revolution. The end of World War 1 would begin to slow down because of an armistice on the western front. Germanys army’s inevitable collapse would lead Germany to want an armistice and in 1918, a major armistice was signed leaving a major impact on global legacy. The war ended on November 11, 1918 leaving the world with universal relief.
