or the inverse, i remember rationality rules made a video DEBUNKING the Kalam and cited WLC as a Theologian and conveniently left out the fact he is also a great philosopher.

>.> Are there rules against being both that I was unaware of? Because I would say he's both. While coming from a Christian theological worldview and teaching both doctrine and apologetics, he also engages with philosophical ideas like 'possible worlds,' the 'A & B theory of time,' and the necessity of abstract objects (I forget what that's called). Also, I think we're a little too—if you'll excuse the sentiment—'up academia's behind' with this. If someone intellectually engages with and earnestly studies theology and philosophy, I don’t think a degree is required to validate them—especially in an age where Kindle books cost $0.99 and there are hundreds of websites dedicated to learning and exploring these concepts. While formal education is valuable, self-teaching and sincere interest are powerful too. Engaging with these ideas honestly and thoughtfully is what gives your insights credibility—not necessarily a degree. We're not trying to fly a rocket ship or perform surgery; we're exploring theology and philosophy. Personally, I believe you can absolutely be a valid lay theologian or philosopher if you’re actively studying and thinking critically, with or without formal credentials.

If I had to recommend one theologian and philosopher for beginner Christians and nonbelievers looking for a thorough understanding of the Christian faith, its philosophy intertwined with its theology, history and apologetics, Dr. William Lane Craig is the servant of God I’d recommend, blessings!

I personally don't care for such simple claims unless the person is willing to elaborate, so to give the person they're making the claim on a chance to take down their reasons for the claim. It's like - A - "You're an R word!" B - "Ok. How?" A - "You just are!" B - "So you have no reason or evidence behind the claim?" A - "You just are!" B ‐ "Ok. You're an R word, S word, and a togib spelled backwards!"

How many volumes of Craigs systematic philosophical theology is being planned. So far it's 2 - but that's dealing only with nature and attributes of God

Yet he still has dumb and borderline dishonest takes on simple things like deconstruction.

A doctorate in theology doesn’t qualify you as an authority on theology, as many people who have doctorates in this area could not find their right hand from their left. To be an authority requires a lifetime devoted to the pursuit of God’s truth, with the aid of the Holy Spirit. Degrees are not necessary in this regard. Craig is first and foremost a philosopher. He is a professor of philosophy, not theology. Well published as a philosopher, but not as a theologian. Earning recognition as a philosopher, but not as a theologian. His debates are almost entirely in the realm of philosophy, not theology. He is also not a Bible or church history expert, which are essential to developing sound theology.

If we had a nickel for every time someone said this, we'd be able to buy everyone on earth a copy of the Systematic Philosophical Theology vol. 1 which is available right now at Wiley and Amazon.
